Staff Fire Safety & Prevention Training

Last week we held a Fire Safety & Prevention training refresher course to all our employees that work on site.

Waste management and recycling sites carry a high risk of fire as they contain and handle vast amounts of flammable and combustible material. Constant fire training helps towards the prevention of fires and how to handle a fire if one occurs.

The training refresher course included what to do if there is an emergency, what the emergency evacuation process includes, how to tackle small fires and what fire extinguisher to use and how to use it.

The refresher course was concluded with hands on training of different fire extinguishers including foam, CO2 and water extinguishers. A great way of understanding how to use different fire extinguishers in a real situation and which fire extinguisher to use for tackling different types of fires.
